DEMOfall 09 Announces Lineup of Emerging Technology Products to Launch Live in Front of Influential Tech Community at DEMOfall 09; 70 Companies Selected to Present at Industry Launch Event
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., - September 18, 2009 - The DEMO conference, the world-renowned launch platform for some of the most notable emerging technologies introduced over the past two decades, today announced the fall line-up of 56 demonstrators that will share their story, never before seen product and value proposition to the technology community at DEMOfall. Demonstrations will be also broadcast live at DEMO.com via BitGravity's BG Live(TM) stream service.
In a show-me-don't-tell-me world, DEMO is about innovative products that bring new ideas and business models to the market, or that challenge existing players. Since the beginning, DEMO conferences have hand selected some of the most successful and revolutionary companies in business today - spanning a variety of industries, regions and sizes - to demonstrate live on-stage for six minutes to media, investor and corporate buyers.
New this year and alongside the demonstrating class of 56 companies, 14 early stage entrepreneurs and pre-launch mode AlphaPitch companies will have 90 seconds in the spotlight to share their prototypes to the critical DEMO audience. To have qualified for the program, each company must be pre-revenue, and have received no more than a seed round of funding (less than $500,000).
The conference will feature an invite-only CEO and Dealmakers Dinner with Mark Heesen, President of the NVCA, and Matt Marshall, DEMO co-executive producer, who will lead a roundtable discussion with Shanna Tellerman, Chief Executive Officer of Sim Ops Studios, and Mike Olson, Entrepreneur and CEO, Cloudera, on "The good, the bad and the ugly of raising venture capital."
And back by popular demand is the annual DEMO Jam Session, sponsored by Cc: Betty and Porter Novelli. Attendees will mix and mingle with fellow entrepreneurs, press, and demonstrators while listening to Barry Rosenbaum from Blue Note Capital and his band on stage.
DEMOfall 09 also marks the final conference for DEMO's longtime executive producer Chris Shipley, who over the past 13 years and 24 DEMO conferences has evaluated over 20,000 applications to select nearly 1,500 leading-edge innovations to launch on the DEMO stage. Joining Chris this year on-stage will be the co-executive producer, VentureBeat's founder and CEO Matt Marshall. In honor of Chris' final year, DEMO will honor 15 legendary alumni with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their significant contribution to the advancement of technology.
DEMOfall 09 will take place September 21-23 in San Diego, CA, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. Register to attend at http://www.demo.com[http://www.demo.com]. For those who can't attend in person, DEMOfall 09 will be broadcast live over the Web through a partnership with former DEMO 08 demonstrator and DEMOgod award winner, BitGravity. Through BitGravity's BG Live(TM) highly-scalable, flash-based video stream service, BitGravity will deliver remote viewers an unmatched user-experience around the globe.
