Asia Ex-Japan 3Q PC Shipments 10.9M Units, Up 19% - IDC

Personal-computer shipments in Asia excluding Japan totaled 10.9 million units in the third quarter, up 19% from a year earlier, market research firm IDC Corp. said Thursday. Compared with the second quarter, PC shipments in the third quarter rose 11%, it said. IDC said third-quarter PC shipments exceeded its initial forecasts by about 5%, because of better-than-expected sales in China, South Korea and Taiwan.
