Industry Events: IDG World Expo Launches WinSEC

IDG World Expo, a producer of tradeshows, conferences and events for technology markets, is gearing up to launch WinSEC 2004, a new series of events designed to deliver unbiased education on Windows desktop and server security issues and provide real world answers for IT professionals seeking alternative solutions to Windows security problems. WinSEC will debut in Minneapolis on November 15, followed by WinSEC in Arlington, Va. on November 18, and then travel to other cities. IDG said the full-day WinSEC program will provide attendees with intensive, practical education that will specifically address the role of Microsoft in identity and security infrastructure, as well as new trends and the future of Microsoft's next generation secure computing. Participants will also learn about patch management, hardening Windows servers against attacks and what to do after an intrusion is detected, IDG noted in a release.
