IDG Eyes India with $20 Million Push

International Data Group has been granted government approval to establish a b-to-b media foothold in India and produce Indian editions of CIO and Computerworld, the company announced this week. IDG will also produce OutSourcing World beginning in June. IDG India will be headquartered in Bangalore and invest $20 million in the India editions, as well as staff 200 people over five years. The company will be led by president N Bringi Devi and COO Louis D’Mello, who helped launch CHIP magazine in India, as well as a number of other technology titles.
