IDC: Disk storage market revenue up in 3Q

Factory revenue in the disk storage market grew by 12.5 percent during the third quarter, the highest growth recorded since IDC, a Framingham, Mass.-based technology research firm, started tracking the market in 2001, a year marked by a steep downturn in technology spending. "We've definitely moved into a recovery since that period," IDC program manager Brad Nisbet said. "This is the highest growth that we've seen yet, and it's encouraging. Just about all the vendors had positive growth, which doesn't always happen."
