New technology mag for teenagers
Articles like 'Why Doug Howlett loves his PDA: The All Blacks go high-tech' and 'I want to work in movies: Get yourself a brilliant career in design' are the lure of actv8 magazine, a new monthly title which aims to inspire teenagers about technology careers. It's a joint venture between IDG and Information & Communications Technology's HiGrowth project. actv8 carries a $4.95 price tag but the first issue has been distributed free to 100,000 Year 9 & 10 students (13-15 year olds). Advertisers in Vol 1 include Renaissance, IBM, Telecom, Otago Uni, Auckland Uni, AUT, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson.
