B2B People on the Move
The Magazine Publishers of America and the American Society of Magazine Editors will honor IDG chairman Patrick J. McGovern with a Lifetime Achievement Award on Jan. 26, 2005 at the Waldorf=Astoria. McGovern has been named as this year's recipient of the Henry Johnson Fisher Award, which recognizes people who have made "significant and longstanding" contributions to the magazine publishing industry and society. McGovern founded International Data Corp., now a subsidiary of International Data Group (IDG), in 1964 and launched his first publication, Computerworld, three years later. IDG has grown to be a publisher of more than 300 B2B and consumer publications in 85 countries, including PC World, InfoWorld, Network World, CIO and CSO. IDG also produces more than 170 conferences and events worldwide.
