IBM, HP lead server sales as IT spend 'strong' - UPDATE 2
IBM took the most worldwide computer server revenue in the third quarter, market research firm IDC reported, as IT spending 'remained strong.' Hewlett-Packard was number one in terms of the number of units shipped and number two in revenue. IBM had 31.7 percent market share of factory revenue and H-P had 26.8 percent, IDC said. Sun Microsystems and Dell tied for third place with just over 10 percent factory revenue share each.
