IDG names Carrigan president of IDG Communications

International Data Group announced Monday that it has promoted Computerworld President-CEO Bob Carrigan to the new position of president of IDG Communications, IDG’s print and online publishing subsidiary. In his new role, Carrigan will oversee Bio-IT World, CXO Media, Computerworld, InfoWorld, Macworld, Network World, PC World and IDG Entertainment. He will also oversee IDG List Services, IDG Research and IDG’s national accounts group. IDG is a company that has historically prized its decentralized structure. "IDG’s leading position in technology media, research, events and venture investing, and its vast global businesses requires a dedicated president in the U.S.," said Patrick Kenealy, IDG’s CEO, who decided to add this new position.
